
Hosted by KTO Karatay University, the “Workshop on the Cooperation Protocol Between the Konya Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office and Konya Universities in the Field of Probation Services” aimed to develop rehabilitation and social integration initiatives in collaboration with universities, in line with human-centered and community-based approaches to the criminal justice system. The opening ceremony of the workshop was attended by Konya Chief Public Prosecutor Halil İnal, KTO Karatay University Rector Prof. Dr. Fevzi Rifat Ortaç, Konya Food and Agriculture University Rector Prof. Dr. Erol Turan, Konya Technical University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Deveci, Selçuk University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Haldun Soydal, Deputy Chief Public Prosecutors of Konya, academics, and invited guests. Prof. Dr. Erol Turan, Rector of Konya Food and Agriculture University, emphasized the importance of universities collaborating with institutions related to the justice system and civil society organizations.
In the sessions held following the opening remarks, Bengisu Büyükmumcu, Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at Konya Food and Agriculture University, delivered a presentation titled “Activities in the Field of Psychology within the KGTU and Probation Cooperation: The Psychological Dimension of Crime,” addressed the psychological causes of crime at the individual and societal levels, as well as potential intervention approaches that could be developed in this context.
