About ITUAM

Center for Advanced Agricultural Research, Application, and Studies (İTUAM), was established within Konya Food and Agriculture University (KGTÜ)—Turkey’s first thematic university in the fields of food and agriculture—in accordance with the regulation published in the Official Gazette dated November 5, 2018, and numbered 30586.

Operating in alignment with our university’s specialization vision—recognized by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) in the field of “Digital Technologies in Agriculture”—ITUAM conducts interdisciplinary R&D projects in the areas of agricultural biotechnology, precision and digital agriculture (Agriculture 4.0), climate-smart agriculture applications, plant health, and sustainable production systems. Our center contributes to regional and global food security by transferring the outcomes of scientific research to the agricultural sector, industry, and directly to our farmers.

OUR CORE ACTIVITIES AND RESEARCH AREAS

Digital Agriculture and Agriculture 4.0 Applications: Development of agricultural sensors, IoT-based monitoring systems, AI-supported image processing, disease/stress detection, and autonomous decision support systems.

Plant Health and Biotechnological Control: Biological control of bacterial and fungal diseases that cause yield losses in agricultural production, microbial fertilizer (biofertilizer) formulations, and research on resistant genotypes.

Climate-Smart and Sustainable Agriculture: Crop cultivation adapted to arid and barren lands, seed priming applications, water and fertilizer optimization, and abiotic stress management.

Agricultural Extension, Farmer Training, and Field Advisory Services: Hands-on field training for producers, cooperatives, and agricultural engineers—primarily in the Central Anatolia Region—along with “Science Café Farmer” meetings and technical advisory services.

International Technology Transfer and Diplomacy: Joint R&D and knowledge transfer protocols with international research institutes and universities within the framework of global food security.
