Message from the Dean

The age we live in is distinguished from past eras not only by the speed of change but also by the nature of that change. The New World and its consequences are reshaping many areas—from the world of work to the economy, from international relations to our forms of communication, and from the lives of individuals and societies to education and production processes. This situation requires not only keeping up with change but also understanding it, questioning it, and being able to shape it.

As the Faculty of Social and Humanities Sciences, we believe that the future will belong not only to those who produce technology, but to those who can understand humanity, society, the economy, and technology together. Our departments of International Trade and Business Administration, Management Information Systems, and Psychology constitute the three key dimensions of a robust academic structure that draws from diverse disciplines yet converges toward a common goal.

International Trade and Business aims to understand global economic relations and the evolving business world; Management Information Systems aims to align technology, data, and digital transformation with sound decision-making; and Psychology aims to scientifically understand individual behavior, mental processes, and interaction with society. The intersection of these fields offers a significant opportunity to generate more holistic solutions to today’s complex problems. This is because the true transformation of economic and technological advancements into value depends on a proper understanding of their impact on people and society. Furthermore, in the world of the future, creativity, critical thinking, innovation, ethical responsibility, and the ability to understand human nature will be just as valuable as technical knowledge.

A university’s mission is not merely to impart knowledge to students and prepare them for professional careers. Universities are also responsible for generating knowledge, questioning the validity of knowledge, developing scientific solutions to social problems, and making their accumulated expertise available for the benefit of society. Our faculty views social contribution as an integral part of its academic responsibility, alongside educational and research activities. Therefore, our primary goal is not merely to produce graduates equipped with professional knowledge, but but to cultivate individuals who question knowledge, develop new ideas, embrace technology while evaluating it with a critical mind, understand humanity and society, establish connections across different disciplines, and create value for the society in which they live.

The Faculty of Social and Humanities Sciences continues on its path with the goal of being an academic environment that does not lag behind a changing world—one that understands and questions change, centers on humanity and society, and contributes to shaping the future. The future belongs to those who are prepared to understand and shape it—those who generate knowledge and create value for a better society.
