What Is the 7+1 Education System? (Industry-Integrated Education)
Our department implements the 7+1 Education Model, which is pioneering agricultural education in Turkey. The basic principles and operational structure of this innovative system are as follows:
Full-Time Industry Experience in the 8th Semester: Our students complete all required theoretical, practical, and elective courses during the first 7 semesters of their undergraduate education, thereby gaining a strong academic foundation. During the entire 8th semester—the final semester of their education—they do not take classes at the university; instead, they work in the field as “full-time” (5 workdays per week) engineering candidates at leading companies in the agricultural sector, R&D centers, smart greenhouses, and production facilities.
No Mandatory Summer Internship: The 2nd- and 3rd-year summer internships typically included in traditional agricultural faculty curricula have been removed from our curriculum to enhance educational quality and focus. All field, laboratory, and industry experience has been integrated into this intensive, professionally oriented, sector-integrated education offered in the 8th semester.
100% English-Language Instruction: All courses, professional applications, and internship reports in our curriculum are conducted 100% in English.
