Message from the Director

Dear Students,

As our world enters a new era marked by population growth, climate change, and the gradual depletion of natural resources, food security and sustainable production have become more critical than ever. In this process, the agriculture and food sectors are being reshaped by digital technologies, artificial intelligence, data-driven decision-making systems, and innovative production models. As the Vocational School of Konya Food and Agriculture University, we aim to be one of the pioneers of this transformation; through our educational approach that integrates theoretical knowledge with practical application, we are training qualified technical professionals who meet the sector’s needs—individuals who effectively utilize technology, generate solutions, and possess strong practical skills.

With its two pioneering departments, our Vocational School offers a comprehensive educational ecosystem covering all stages of the agriculture and food value chain—from field to table.

Department of Plant and Animal Production (Digital Agriculture Technologies Program): By integratingplant and animal production with digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), unmanned aerial vehicles (drones), big data, and data analytics, we are training qualified technical professionals who possess the knowledge and skills required by Agriculture 5.0 and can effectively utilize technology.

Food Processing Department (Food Quality Control and Analysis Program):To support reliable, high-quality, and sustainable food production, we equip the industry with a qualified technical workforce possessing the high technical proficiency and practical skills required by the modern food industry—from raw material processing to packaging, and from quality assurance to food safety and R&D processes.

Our departments, featuring an innovative two-year associate degree curriculum, offer an educational approach that integrates theoretical knowledge with practical application through the 3+1 Education Model. Under this model, after completing their theoretical and practical courses during the first three semesters, our students spend their fourth semester entirely in full-time on-the-job training at leading companies in the industry, R&D centers, or production facilities. In this way, our students gain professional experience in a real-world work environment before graduation, while also gaining a close understanding of the industry’s expectations and the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired. Unlike traditional educational models, hands-on vocational training in our programs is conducted holistically as part of a comprehensive on-the-job training program carried out during the final semester.

By integrating Anadolu Birlik Holding’s robust production ecosystem with our university’s advanced R&D infrastructure into our educational processes, we provide our students with hands-on learning experiences in real production environments from day one. Thanks to our project-based education model, our students develop the ability to translate theoretical knowledge into practice, accurately analyze industry expectations, and develop innovative solutions—preparing them to become highly qualified technical professionals who are in high demand in the business world upon graduation.

I wish all students who have chosen our Vocational School—with the goal of building a sustainable future and leading the digital age in manufacturing—every success on their academic journey.
