As the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, our goal is to educate individuals who are capable of actively contributing to the fields of health, agriculture, energy, and food biotechnology, as well as participating in basic research in these areas.
As faculty members of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, we recognize the importance of an education that goes beyond theoretical training in a single technical field in this evolving and changing world—an education that enables students to understand different disciplines and approach problems from diverse perspectives, in short, an education that allows them to “connect the dots.” We are fully aware of how crucial technical skills and analytical thinking are—beyond the diploma—in both professional and academic life, and of what minds accustomed to understanding and thinking—rather than merely memorizing—are capable of achieving.
Through our various research and development laboratories and our interdisciplinary structure—which fosters an understanding of both technical and sector-specific/social skills—we aim to prepare well-rounded scientists who meet the intellectual demands of our time for both the professional world and academia.
With our faculty of experts in various fields, who possess both academic and industrial experience, we aim to show you not only the fundamentals of molecular biology but also where the field is headed and how it interacts with other scientific disciplines.
The discipline of molecular biology and genetics, with its many application areas such as health, agriculture, energy, and food, has become one of the priority development areas for our country in recent years. Genetic diagnostic laboratories, forensic medicine laboratories, food analysis laboratories, domestic pharmaceutical production facilities, domestic tissue culture laboratories, in vitro fertilization (IVF) centers, food production plants, patent offices, and consulting firms—are all seeking candidates with degrees in molecular biology and genetics.
To ensure you are among the sought-after candidates, we offer you:
Thanks to our faculty members with industry experience in the rapidly advancing fields of molecular biology and biotechnology, as well as our strong ties to industry, the KGTU Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics—which is committed to solution-oriented product and technology development—, we would be delighted to welcome you among us.
As a scientist, it is in your hands to impact not just ten, but tens of thousands of lives—all you need is the desire...
