Program Outcomes and Teaching Objectives

Molecular Biology and Genetics Department Teaching Objectives;

1. To have a comprehensive theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of molecular biology and genetics and to be able to use this knowledge to identify, analyze and solve complex problems.

2.To be able to produce solutions to problems in different fields by integrating the basic principles of molecular biology and genetics with other disciplines (biosafety, biotechnology, sustainability, etc.).

3.To have the ability to design experiments, collect and analyze data, interpret results and communicate findings effectively in written and oral form using scientific research methods.

4. To have the ability to analyze biological data, model complex systems and develop innovative solutions using information technologies and tools (such as bioinformatics, systems biology, biostatistics and artificial intelligence).

5. To have a sense of professional ethics and responsibility, to be committed to lifelong learning and to follow scientific developments.


Program Outcomes for the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics;

1. Ability to apply theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of molecular biology and genetics to identify, define and solve complex problems in the field.
2. Ability to select and use appropriate scientific tools, technologies and analytical methods for problem solving in molecular biology and genetics.
3. A comprehensive understanding of the fundamental concepts of molecular biology and molecular genetics and the ability to access and interpret relevant information from a variety of sources.
4. Demonstrate specialized knowledge in a selected area of molecular biology and genetics, as well as sufficient understanding of other scientific and engineering disciplines to enable effective interdisciplinary collaboration.
5. Ability to understand the principles of molecular biology and DNA technologies, biosafety, challenges in different biotechnology fields (agriculture, food, health, environment), sustainability principles in different fields and adapt them to their own field of study.
6. Ability to design and conduct research projects in the context of molecular biology and genetics, including formulating hypotheses, designing experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and interpreting results, individually or as a team.
7. A strong understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities in the field of molecular biology and genetics and a commitment to uphold these values in research and practice.
8. Awareness of the societal impact of advances in molecular biology and genetics, including the ability to contribute to addressing current challenges and ethical considerations.
9. Ability to communicate research findings and scientific information effectively orally and in writing in English.
10. Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning in the field of molecular biology and genetics, the ability to keep abreast of new developments, adapt to emerging technologies and continuously update knowledge and skills.
11. Ability to use information technologies and tools (such as bioinformatics, systems biology, biostatistics and artificial intelligence) to analyze biological data, model complex systems and develop innovative solutions in their field.
