
Konya Food and Agriculture University (KFAU) has reached another significant milestone in its graduate education journey by celebrating the graduation of its first PhD student.
Zeynep Demirsoy, who graduated as the valedictorian of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics in 2021 and currently serves as a Research Assistant in the same department, has successfully completed her doctoral dissertation entitled "Programmable Nanoparticles: Advancing Biomimicry from Enzymes to Cells" within the Biotechnology PhD Program of the Graduate School. Upon the successful completion of her dissertation, she was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
Conducted under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülcihan Gülseren, Demirsoy's doctoral research marks a historic milestone as she became the first PhD graduate of Konya Food and Agriculture University. Focusing on programmable nanoparticles and biomimetic systems, her dissertation makes original scientific contributions to the field of nanobiotechnology while reflecting the University's strong commitment to research-oriented education.
After graduating as the University's valedictorian, Dr. Demirsoy continued her academic career as a Research Assistant in the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics. Her achievement stands as a tangible reflection of Konya Food and Agriculture University's vision to educate highly qualified researchers and the academic excellence it has achieved in graduate education.
