Management Information Systems Department

The Department of Management Information Systems aims to nurture individuals who are capable of analytical thinking, innovative and committed to ethical values, in line with the requirements of the digital age, through an interdisciplinary educational approach that integrates business, management sciences, computer science and information technology.

Today, public sector organisations and private sector companies require specialists who can effectively manage data, plan digital transformation processes and integrate information technology with strategic decision-making processes in order to gain a competitive edge. Our department aims to train graduates capable of meeting this need, thereby producing professionals who bridge the gap between information technology and management sciences.

Our curriculum features a contemporary programme that integrates current fields such as programming, database management, business analytics, artificial intelligence applications, big data, information security, project management, enterprise information systems, digital transformation, e-commerce, decision support systems and entrepreneurship with the disciplines of computer science, management, economics and business administration. Our students graduate having gained professional experience through practice-oriented courses, project work, industry partnerships and work placements, alongside theoretical knowledge.

Our department is committed to training individuals who do not merely use technology, but who analyse organisational needs, develop solutions, and design, develop, manage and continuously improve information systems. In line with this, we place great importance on developing our students’ skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, effective communication, lifelong learning, leadership and entrepreneurship.

Graduates of the Management Information Systems Department work as: can pursue careers in a wide range of roles—such as business analyst, systems analyst, data analyst, business intelligence specialist, software developer, ERP consultant, information systems specialist, project manager, digital transformation specialist, information security specialist, product manager and technology consultant—within public sector organisations, private sector companies, technology firms, financial institutions, manufacturing enterprises and the start-up ecosystem.

The Department of Management Information Systems at Konya Food and Agriculture University conducts its teaching and learning activities with a student-centred, quality-focused and continuous improvement approach. Our programme is regularly evaluated and updated in line with feedback received from our students, graduates, employers and other external stakeholders. This ensures a dynamic learning environment that adapts to evolving technology, the expectations of the business world and societal needs. Within the programme, which is taught in English, students acquire the necessary skills in relevant fields and gain opportunities for individual development aligned with their interests and career goals through elective courses from various disciplines.


Our department aims to be a respected and innovative Management Information Systems programme, both nationally and internationally, by embracing scientific productivity, a culture of research, social contribution, ethical responsibility and the principles of sustainable development. Through the programme’s practical courses, internship opportunities, project work and industry partnerships, students have the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the business world and to apply their theoretical knowledge in practice.
