From the Department Chair

As the Department of Interior Architecture, our goal is to educate interior architects who can evaluate the principles of aesthetics, functionality, user needs, and sustainability through a holistic approach, combine creative thinking with technical knowledge, and are mindful of their professional and ethical responsibilities.

Today, interior design is no longer limited to merely organizing the physical environment; it has emerged as an interdisciplinary field that encompasses human behavior, cultural values, technological advancements, and the principles of environmental sustainability. In line with this, our department aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required by today’s world through design studios, hands-on courses, research activities, and industry partnerships.

Our educational program is structured to foster critical thinking, problem-solving, creative design development, teamwork, effective communication, and lifelong learning skills. We place great importance on ensuring that our students graduate not only as individuals with professional knowledge but also as professionals with a strong sense of social responsibility, the ability to adapt to changing conditions, and the capacity to generate innovative solutions.
In our department, the principles of quality assurance and continuous improvement form the foundation of our educational activities. We regularly evaluate our educational program with the contributions of our students, alumni, industry representatives, and other stakeholders; by following national and international developments, we strive to continuously improve the quality of our education.

With our faculty of experts in the field and our student-centered approach to education, we are dedicated to training the interior architects of the future—individuals who believe in the transformative power of design and are capable of creating livable, high-quality spaces.
