Dear Students,
Food supply and agricultural production—humanity’s most fundamental needs since the dawn of time—are currently undergoing one of the greatest transformations in history. Traditional farming methods are giving way to data analytics, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and the Internet of Things (IoT). It is precisely at this turning point that we, as the Department of Plant and Animal Production, take pride in training the leaders who will shape the future of agriculture through our Digital Agriculture Technologies program.
Our goal is not merely to train individuals who till the soil or manage livestock production; rather, it is to graduate “digital agriculture experts” who can integrate technology into every stage of production and utilize resources with minimal waste and maximum efficiency.
Today, as the world’s population grows rapidly, arable land and water resources are dwindling. In an era where climate change has become a global threat, the key to ensuring sustainability in agriculture lies in technological transformation. In our program, we offer our students : Smart Agriculture Applications: Sensor technologies, drones and satellite imagery, IoT and data collection systems for monitoring crop development, etc.; Data Analytics: AI-powered disease and pest detection in animal and plant production, yield forecasting, and precision livestock farming, etc.; Sustainability: Optimizing water, fertilizer, and pesticide use through automation systems, etc.—all modern competencies in high demand on a global scale.
One of the most important factors strengthening the quality of education in our departmentis, without a doubt, the 3+1 Education Model. To support our students’ professional development and ensure they are prepared to enter the industry as well-equipped professionals, we combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience through an integrated educational approach. Under this model, after completing their theoretical and practical courses in their respective fields during the first three semesters, our students spend the entire final semester undergoing full-time on-the-job training at leading companies in the industry, R&D centers, or production facilities. Thanks to the 3+1 model, our students gain professional experience in a real work environment even before graduation; they have the opportunity to develop professional competencies such as teamwork, problem-solving, communication, time management, and work discipline. At the same time, by gaining a close understanding of the industry’s expectations, they are able to apply the theoretical knowledge and practical skills they have acquired to real production processes. As a result, our graduates are not merely individuals with academic knowledge; they make a strong start to their careers as qualified professionals who have gained the practical experience the business world demands, can adapt to the industry, and are ready for employment.
I invite all young people who wish to shape the future of agriculture through technology and become the digital architects of agricultural production to join the Digital Agriculture Technologies Program.
I wish success to all our students who are joining us in stepping into the digital age of agriculture for a sustainable future and a green transformation, and I thank all our stakeholders for their contributions.
"The future belongs to those who combine the bounty of the land with the power of technology."
