As the Department of International Trade and Business, our primary goal is to educate individuals who can understand the dynamics of a globalized world, think analytically in the fields of international trade and business, adapt to changing economic and technological developments, uphold ethical values, and develop solution-oriented approaches. Success in today’s business environment depends not only on possessing theoretical knowledge but also on the ability to apply that knowledge across different sectors, cultures, and economic contexts. Therefore, we strive to equip our students with a strong foundation for both academic and professional success.
International Trade and Business plays a critical role in strengthening economic relations among countries, enhancing the competitiveness of businesses in global markets, and supporting sustainable development. Digitalization, global supply chains, international investments, and rapidly changing consumer expectations continue to reshape the profile of individuals needed by the business world. At the same time, recent economic fluctuations, geopolitical tensions, global pandemics, climate-related risks, and social transformations have made the multidimensional nature of contemporary crises increasingly visible. These developments have intensified the need for minds that can not only understand existing conditions but also analyze the causes of crises, evaluate the opportunities and threats they create, make strategic decisions under uncertainty, and manage change effectively. Being fully aware of these transformations, we aim not merely to transfer existing knowledge but to cultivate individuals who can conduct research, question assumptions, make data-driven decisions, evaluate global developments from multiple perspectives, and develop innovative solutions.
At Konya Food and Agriculture University, the Department of International Trade and Business offers an education that integrates theory and practice in line with national and international academic standards. Delivered entirely in English, our program provides a strong foundation in international trade, business management, marketing, finance, economics, entrepreneurship, and data analysis. In line with the University's areas of specialization, we place particular emphasis on educating graduates who understand the international dimensions of the food and agriculture sectors and who can contribute to enhancing their global competitiveness.
To help you develop the qualifications sought by both the business world and academia today and in the future, we offer the following opportunities:
• Global Perspective: Developing the ability to understand, evaluate, and adapt to changing global business conditions by following current developments in international trade, economics, and business.
• Applied Learning: Gaining professional experience and transforming theoretical knowledge into practice through internships, projects, case studies, and collaborations with industry partners.
• Analytical and Data-Driven Decision Making: Acquiring the skills necessary to analyze business challenges, interpret data, and develop strategic solutions.
• Academic Development and Research Competence: Developing academic thinking skills through research projects, scientific studies, and data analysis applications, as well as through the production of theoretical knowledge and the systematic and critical examination of relevant disciplinary literature; acquiring the ability to critically and comparatively evaluate existing theories, develop them further, and construct new conceptual frameworks; and building a strong and sustainable academic foundation by effectively using scientific research methods for graduate studies and academic career paths.
• Specialized Learning Environment: Benefiting from the expertise of a university specialized in food and agriculture and gaining a deeper understanding of the international trade and business dimensions of these sectors.
With our faculty members who possess both academic and industry experience, we aim not only to teach how businesses are managed and how international trade operates, but also to inspire students to become individuals who can employ scientific research methods, think critically and analytically, follow national and international academic developments, and contribute to the production of knowledge. We believe that the research and analytical skills acquired in our department will provide significant advantages not only in professional life but also in master's and doctoral studies.
Remember that graduates of International Trade and Business enjoy a wide range of career opportunities, not only in foreign trade but also in multinational corporations, banking and finance, logistics, marketing and sales, entrepreneurship ecosystems, public institutions, and international organizations. In addition, our department aims to prepare students for graduate education and academic careers at both national and international levels. We invite you to become part of this exciting journey and shape your future at the Department of International Trade and Business at Konya Food and Agriculture University.
As you embark on this journey to understand the global economy, shape the future of businesses, and seize the opportunities offered by international trade, we believe that you will become individuals who generate knowledge, contribute to economic and social development, and create value for both our country and the world.
