Program outcomes and teaching objectives

Teaching Objectives of the Department of Psychology;

To provide students with basic and current psychology knowledge

Giving students a scientific perspective in general

To provide students with the ability to apply the scientific method

Ensuring that students recognize the relevant professional practice areas

LO5. Providing students with the principles of professional and research ethics

Psychology Department Program Outcomes;

PO1: Can define the basic concepts and terms of psychology.

PO2: Have knowledge about the main theoretical approaches and perspectives; perceive these approaches in a historical perspective and develop their own perspective by analyzing their differences and similarities.

PO3: Understand the position and nature of psychology within other scientific disciplines in the historical process and today.

PO4: Recognize various application areas of psychology and have basic knowledge in these areas.

PO5: Develop scientific thinking skills, comment critically and actively participate in learning processes.

PO6: Develop the ability to conduct academic research and utilize academic resources; thus, they can follow and contribute to current developments in the field.

PO7: Have basic communication and interview skills.

PO8: Know the basic principles of psychological assessments and analyze these principles in a theoretical framework.

PO9: Know the issues to be considered in measurement-evaluation processes and have basic knowledge about frequently used tools.

PO10: Know the ethical principles of psychological research and practice and have the ability to create a research design, data collection and reporting in accordance with ethical principles.

PO11: Knows the ethical principles of psychology and the scientific way of thinking and questioning.

PO12: Recognizes the dynamism of the field and understands the need for continuous learning and following the innovations in the field for professional development.
