Throughout history, one of the most important needs of human beings has been the supply of foodstuffs for nutrition. For this reason, agricultural production constitutes one of the indispensable fields of activity for humans. Especially in the last two centuries, with the reflections of technological developments in various industrial fields on agriculture, agricultural technologies have reached the most advanced level in history. However, air, water and soil pollution caused by various industrial activities, as well as the increase in human population and thus housing areas, cause the usable agricultural areas to decrease every year. For this reason, the trend towards environmentally friendly production techniques in modern agriculture is increasing in order to produce healthy foods for human nutrition and to make agricultural areas sustainable. In this age where information and energy have become power on a global scale, agriculture has become a sector where people who are well-trained in their field, use up-to-date information and technologies, and have developed international communication skills are successful. As the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Sciences of Konya Food and Agriculture University, we consider it among our most important duties to train professional staff with these qualifications.
Our faculty, which is located within the first specialized university related to agriculture in Turkey, has critical importance in the cultivation of agricultural products and the production of raw materials for the food industry. Therefore, it constitutes the focal point of Konya Food and Agriculture University. In our faculty, studies on the planning of all processes from production to consumption and the application of modern technologies are carried out in a multidisciplinary manner. Regarding education and training, the Departments of Crop Production and Technologies and Molecular Biology and Genetics provide not only vocational education but also education in related social fields. In addition, thanks to the T-type education model carried out entirely in English, our students are trained as individuals who know how to access information, think analytically, approach problems in a solution-oriented manner, have developed communication skills, and are suitable for teamwork. Our faculty contributes to our students' use of modern knowledge and technologies with its student laboratories, modern laboratory equipment, computer-aided classrooms and R&D laboratories used by our faculty members in their researches, as well as land and greenhouses for experiments and student applications in its new modern building completed in the 2017-2018 academic year.
We invite our young colleague candidates who want to experience an agricultural education experience in Konya, the capital of agriculture in our country, in cooperation with the agriculture-based industrial organizations of Anadolu Birlik Holding and the university, to join our Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Sciences family.
