The thesis by Ayça Eroğlu, a student in the Department of Biotechnology at the Graduate School of Education, has been awarded funding under the “TÜBİTAK 2210-C Domestic Priority Areas Master’s Scholarship Program.”
The thesis, titled “Development of Cannabidiol (CBD)-Loaded Mucosal Adhesive Nanoparticles and Evaluation of Their Efficacy in Gastric Cancer Cells,” focuses on enhancing the efficacy of cannabidiol (CBD), a natural compound showing promise in cancer treatment. The study aims to synthesize mucoadhesive nanoparticles capable of controlled release using PLGA and Eudragit RS100. The goal is to investigate how the developed system increases CBD’s bioavailability by prolonging its retention time in the gastric mucosa, thereby examining its effects on processes such as cell proliferation, internalization, and endosomal escape in gastric cancer cells.
We congratulate our student Ayça Eroğlu and her thesis advisor, Dr. Deniz Sezlev Bilecen, and wish them continued success.
