The Supplementary Language Development Activities conducted in our Foreign Languages Department are a series of activities aimed at supporting students' English language proficiency through extracurricular applications. The applications carried out within this scope are listed below. Through these activities, students are expected to develop their oral communication skills, use the language in natural and interactive environments, and gain confidence. These activities reinforce the language knowledge and skills acquired in formal classes.
Listening-Speaking Lab classes are held for 1 hour per week. In these classes, students use the computer lab to complete online activities that help them develop their listening and speaking skills.
In addition to the speaking activities and presentations inthe Listening-Speaking classes, there is a 1-hour speaking class per week with our native English-speaking instructor.
Jargon classesare held for 2 hours per week starting in the second semester. These classes aim to prepare students for the courses they will encounter in their own academic disciplines and to familiarize them with field-specific terminology and basic concepts.
The English Theater Club is offered on an optional basis in the second semester, led by our native English-speaking instructor. Through drama-based activities, students are encouraged to use English in context, develop their communicative competence, and gain confidence in pronunciation and fluency. Furthermore, the staging and role-playing processes allow students to experience the language in a natural and interactive environment.
