YÖKAK Sub-Working Group Job Descriptions

“YÖKAK Sub-Working Groups” are teams established within the university’s internal quality assurance system to conduct detailed analyses and improvement efforts in specific quality criteria areas (leadership and governance, education and teaching, research and development, social contribution, etc.). YÖKAK Sub-Working Groups serve as the operational and technical implementation teams for the university’s quality assurance system. While the Quality Commission makes decisions at the strategic level, the sub-working groups generate criteria-based data, conduct analyses, and carry out improvement processes. They conduct their work in accordance with the institutional accreditation and evaluation criteria of the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK).

They generally operate under the university’s Quality Commission and undertake the following tasks:

• They conduct studies based on YÖKAK evaluation categories—Leadership, Governance, and Quality; Education and Teaching; Research and Development; and Social Contribution—analyzing the current status and identifying strengths and areas for improvement
• Collect data related to the criteria for which they are responsible during the preparation process of the Institutional Self-Evaluation Report (KİDR); prepare supporting documents (guidelines, reports, statistics, etc.); and provide content for the annual KİDR drafting process
• Prepare for YÖKAK external evaluation or institutional accreditation visits
• Organize the evidence files to be presented to the evaluation teams
• Conduct internal evaluation meetings to address potential questions
• Identify field-specific performance indicators
• Develop data monitoring and reporting systems
• Increasing the measurability of processes
• Developing an action plan based on evaluation results
• Implement the continuous improvement (PDCA) cycle
• Tracking findings from the previous year
• Collect data from faculties and institutes
• Collaborating with departmental quality committees
• Submitting a report to the university’s senior administration
