Admission Requirements

Master's Program in Computer Engineering (with Thesis, English):

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related computing discipline, or in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Graduates of other disciplines may also apply, provided that they document sufficient coursework in computer science, as determined by the Department's review, and are accepted by the Department.
  • Have a minimum ALES score of 55 (Quantitative). ALES scores are valid for 5 (five) years from the exam date.
  • Have a minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 2.5/4.00 or 65/100.
  • Score at least 70 on the Scientific Evaluation (Written) Exam.
  • English Language Score: A minimum score of 60 on YÖKDİL, eYDS or YDS, 72 on TOEFL-IBT, or at least 65 (or an equivalent score) on the exam administered by the Konya Food and Agriculture University Foreign Languages Coordinatorship.
    • Candidates without an English proficiency certificate who pass the scientific evaluation exam may enroll in the University's English Preparatory Program on a fee-paying basis and begin their Master's studies upon successful completion. Scholarships do not apply to the English Preparatory Program.
  • Statement of Purpose (a letter explaining the candidate's reasons for applying to the program).

Evaluation of Applications

Master's Program in Computer Engineering:

The scientific evaluation is conducted as a written exam. In addition to general scientific knowledge and their motivation for applying to the program, candidates are assessed within the scope of the undergraduate program from which they graduated. Composite scores are calculated with the following weights: 50% ALES score, 25% undergraduate GPA and 25% Scientific Evaluation Exam score (the conversion tables set by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) apply to conversions between the 4-point and 100-point grading systems). Candidates are placed in the programs they applied to in descending order of composite score, within the available quota. In case of a tie, priority is given to the candidate with the higher undergraduate GPA.

Ph.D. Program in Computer Engineering — Admission Requirements

  • Hold a degree from a relevant department such as Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering or Industrial Engineering, primarily from Faculties of Engineering and Technology. Applicants from other faculties and disciplines may be admitted, with or without a scientific preparation program, depending on an evaluation of their background in the field.
  • Have a minimum ALES score of 60 (Quantitative). Candidates applying with a bachelor's degree must have a score of 80 or above (Quantitative). ALES scores are valid for 5 (five) years from the exam date.
  • English Language Proficiency: A minimum score of 65 on YDS (English) or an equivalent score on an international language exam recognized as equivalent by ÖSYM.
  • Score at least 70 on the Scientific Evaluation (Written) Exam.
  • Statement of Purpose (a letter explaining the candidate's reasons for applying to the program).
  • Two letters of reference.
  • Applicants with a bachelor's or master's degree must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00/4.00.
