
Hosted by Konya University of Food and Agriculture and organized in collaboration with the Institute of Economic Development and Social Research (İKSAD), the 8th Congress on Food, Agriculture, and Veterinary Sciences was successfully held in Konya from May 29 to 31, 2025. The congress served as an interdisciplinary platform bringing together the latest developments in food safety, sustainable agriculture, innovation in livestock farming, and veterinary health sciences, uniting leading academics, researchers, and industry representatives in the field.
Held for the eighth time this year, the congress was attended by academics, graduate researchers, and private sector representatives from various countries, primarily Turkey. During the event, over 300 papers were presented on numerous critical topics, including food technologies, soil productivity, plant genetics, veterinary pharmacology, animal welfare, and agricultural biotechnology.
The opening address was delivered by Prof. Dr. Erol Turan, Rector of Konya Food and Agriculture University, while Dr. Mustafa Latif Emek, President of İKSAD, emphasized the importance of scientific collaborations and rural development. Representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and various biomedical companies were also present at the opening session.
The conference also featured special sessions for young researchers, panel discussions, and workshops addressing opportunities for collaboration with the industry. Participants had the opportunity to exchange experiences and ideas on developing scientific solutions to current global challenges in the food and agriculture sectors.
