Message from the Program Chair

Dear Aspiring Scientists, Researchers, and Colleagues,

As the Department of Biotechnology at Konya Food and Agriculture University, we have taken our journey of academic and scientific excellence to the next level by building upon the successes we achieved at the undergraduate level and our “learning in the lab/on-site” focused educational model, to the next level through our Master’s and Ph.D. programs in Biotechnology within our Graduate School.

Biotechnology education and research are not limited to the mere transfer of theoretical knowledge or keeping up with the literature. Today, the life sciences require a high level of technical skill, analytical thinking, the ability to synthesize interdisciplinary knowledge in depth, and a visionary R&D perspective. In this specialization process, built on the synergy of basic sciences and engineering principles, our primary goal is to to train competent biotechnologists and world-class scientists who keep pace with global scientific developments, can integrate theoretical knowledge with industrial innovation and value-added product development processes, and possess a high level of ethical awareness.

Interdisciplinary and Industry-Focused Transformation: Enriched with cutting-edge fields such as molecular biology, bioinformatics, and advanced “omics” technologies, our program structure enables our students to specialize in microbial, plant, animal, or medical biotechnology.

Project-Oriented Laboratory Culture: Thanks to our strong faculty, we enable our students to play an active role in research projects supported by national and international grants during their research and thesis processes. By involving our students as researchers in our state-of-the-art R&D laboratories, we encourage them to enhance their theoretical and practical skills.
