Announcement Regarding the Dual Major Program for the Fall Semester of the 2026–2027 Academic Year

In accordance with the provisions of the Regulation on the Principles Governing Transfers Between Associate’s and Bachelor’s Degree Programs, Double Majors, Minors, and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfers at Higher Education Institutions, and our University’s Double Major Guidelines, the requirements and application schedule for the 2026–2027 Fall Semester Dual Major Program are set forth below.


A- REQUIREMENTS

  1. Students may apply to the Double Major degree program no earlier than the beginning of the third semester of their Major degree program and no later than the beginning of the fifth semester for four-year programs, within the application periods announced.
  2. They must have completed all required courses in their major undergraduate program up to the semester of application, having earned a grade of DD (C–) or higher in those courses and an “S” grade in courses where letter grades are not assigned, and their cumulative GPA must be at least 3.00;
  3. The student must be in the top 20% of their class based on academic ranking; for those who do not meet this condition, they must have a score no lower than the minimum admission score for the dual major program in the relevant academic year, Additionally, for programs that require an academic ranking, students wishing to pursue a dual major must meet the academic ranking requirement set by the Higher Education Council for the relevant program in the year of their enrollment, in addition to the other specified conditions.


B- DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR APPLICATION

-ÖSYM Results Certificate (for students who did not rank in the top 20%)

-Transcript (Will be attached to your application by the Office of Student Affairs.)
-Additionally, students from the Faculty of Social and Humanities Sciences and the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Sciences who are applying to degree programs in the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture must include a results certificate showing their ÖSYS/YKS placement scores and success rankings with their applications.

 

C- APPLICATIONS

-Applicants applying to the Double Major program must submit their applications to the Office of Student Affairs along with the application form during the specified dates. Under no circumstances will applications be accepted after the specified application deadline.

-In the event of a delay in applications submitted by mail, the responsibility lies with the student.

In line with our university’s commitment, any student who meets the dual major application requirements may pursue a dual major in any degree program of their choice. For this reason, no quota has been set.

F- EVALUATION

Committees established by the faculties evaluate whether eligible students meet the application requirements and whether they have selected a degree program for which they are eligible to apply. The decisions are finalized by the administrative boards.
