A project titled “Investigation of the Effect of Acetic Acid Application on Drought Stress Tolerance and Transgenerational Memory Formation in Arabidopsis thaliana” has been awarded funding under the TÜBİTAK 2209-A University Student Research Projects Support Program
Within the scope of the project, experiments conducted on the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana will investigate the effect of acetic acid application on drought tolerance and the transgenerational transmission of this effect. The epigenetic responses of plants to stress conditions and the potential of these responses to form transgenerational memory will be examined in detail. Additionally, the project will compare Hdac6 mutants with wild-type plants to elucidate the role of epigenetic modifications. The findings will shed light on the importance of epigenetic mechanisms in enhancing plant resilience against environmental stresses such as drought, thereby contributing to the development of new strategies aimed at improving sustainability and productivity in agriculture.
We congratulate our student and their advisor and wish them continued success.
