Agriculture, Food and Livestock Symposium was held with Intensive Participation

The symposium organized by TASAV on "Agriculture, Food and Livestock: Situation Analysis, Problem Areas and Solution Proposals" organized by TASAV was held in Ankara on October 18, 2025 with the participation of Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz.

The event, which brought together many different segments such as scientists, bureaucrats, farmers, politicians, NGO Representatives, started with the opening speeches of TASAV President and MHP Deputy Chairman İsmail Faruk AKSU.

Stating that the symposium created a common mind platform where soil, science and labor meet, TASAV President said, "In this symposium, which was prepared with the aim of contributing to the vision of ‘Turkish and Turkish Century’ in the new century of our Republic, the current situation of Turkey's agri-food ecosystem, structural problems and solutions were discussed with a holistic approach. As a result of our meticulous work, three separate works have been prepared."

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Erol Turan, as the editor of one of the books, took the floor to introduce the books. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Erol Turan, who coordinated the preparation process of the three books published by TASAV, made a presentation about the books titled “Agricultural Sector in Turkey”, “Food Security and Food Safety in Turkey and the World” and “Development of Animal Husbandry in Turkey”. "These books have undergone a rigorous editorial review and refereeing process. The topics and issues to be discussed at the symposium are covered in detail in these books. The common message of these three works is that we cannot protect the consumer without empowering the producer. A nation that is not self-sufficient in food cannot protect its independence. Agriculture and animal husbandry that is not based on knowledge, technology and organized production cannot survive in global competition." Turan said that he believes that these works published by TASAV will be reference books in this field.

In the session chaired by Prof. Dr. Hasan Hüseyin ATAR, Dean of Ankara University Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Kıvanç BİLECEN, Dean of Konya Food and Agriculture University Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Sciences, Prof. Dr. Erol AYDIN, Faculty Member of Veterinary Faculty of Kafkas University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ezgi AYTAÇ, Fırat University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Prof. Dr. Mehmet ÇALCIOĞLU, Istanbul Rumeli University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer ÇETİN and Konya Food and Agriculture University Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Sciences Research Assistant Dr. Mustafa Alp Arslan UMARUSMAN delivered speeches.
