
The “Cooperative and New Generation Entrepreneurship Workshop for University Students” organized by the Konya Provincial Directorate of Trade for university students was successfully held with a comprehensive program.
In the opening section of the program, the place of cooperatives in Turkey and the world, the importance of young people in this field, and the general objectives of the workshop were conveyed. Following the opening, the sessions began.
Session 1: “Cooperatives – Just an Outdated Model?”
The first session addressed the basic principles of cooperatives, new generation cooperative models, innovation, and the rise of platform cooperatives. The opportunities cooperatives offer for careers and entrepreneurship were also evaluated.
Session 2: Establishing a Cooperative – Legal and Structural Roadmap
This section covered the steps followed in the cooperative establishment process, the obligations under the Cooperatives Law No. 1163, the process of preparing the bylaws, and the duties of the management and supervisory bodies. Emphasis was also placed on common legal errors encountered in practice.
Session 3: State Support for Cooperatives and Successful Applications
Incentives provided by the Ministry (KOOP-DES, etc.), supervision processes, and successful cooperative examples were presented through case studies. Students gained concrete information about how cooperatives work in practice.
Session 4: Panel on Students' Questions
The final session addressed topics that students were curious about, such as partnership structure, share transfer, risks, processes for leaving a cooperative, and opportunities for establishing a cooperative after graduation.
