Food Biotechnology Symposium, hosted by Our University and Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University, was held in cooperation with Michigan State University

The first day of the symposium, organised between 25 and 26 September, was held in Karaman. The opening speech of the second day of the symposium held at our university was made by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Tayyar Sen Durmuş. The symposium then continued with valuable presentations of our participants. Prof. Dr. Rebecca Grumet of Michigan State University made a presentation titled ‘GMOs, Plant Breeding and Relationships and Their Usage Areas Today’. The program continued with Head of the Department of Food Engineering Prof. Dr. Zümrüt Begüm Ögel's presentation titled ‘Microbial Biodiversity and Our Health’. Afterwards, Hacettepe University Assoc. Dr. Remziye Yılmaz made her presentation titled 'Modern Biotechnology for Food and Agricultural Research’. The program came to an end with the presentation of Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University Faculty Member Banu Metin on 'Omic Approaches in Food Microbiology’. After the symposium, a technical trip was organized with the participants to Panagro Meat-Milk Integrated Food Facilities, which is the world's biggest meat-milk integrated facility found in a campus.
