New Academic and Agricultural Bridges Across Africa

Konya Food and Agriculture University (KFAU) continues to expand its international academic relations and share its expertise in agriculture with institutions in different countries.

01 GEZIRA

One of the major steps was a cooperation agreement between KFAU and the University of Gezira, one of Sudan's prominent universities. The protocol covers education, research and agricultural cooperation. The agreement was signed with the participation of Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kılıç, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of KFAU, and representatives of the University of Gezira. The partnership aims to develop joint academic and scientific research projects, increase staff and student exchanges, and establish cooperation in agricultural investments.

02 EL-GADARIF

Another important initiative in Sudan was carried out with the University of El-Gadarif. The protocol was signed at the university's rectorate by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kılıç on behalf of KFAU and Rector Prof. Dr. Ibtisam Eltayeb Eljack Ahmed on behalf of the University of El-Gadarif. The partnerships with the two Sudanese universities are expected to contribute not only to academic cooperation, but also to increasing Sudan's agricultural production capacity, developing sustainable agricultural technologies and strengthening existing agricultural relations between Türkiye and Sudan.

03 GHANA

KFAU has also extended its international engagement in Africa to Ghana. A university delegation visited the Embassy of Ghana to strengthen international relations and explore new opportunities for academic cooperation. During the meetings, the parties discussed potential joint projects in agriculture and food, student and academic staff exchange programmes, and cooperation in research and innovation. They also exchanged views on Ghana's agricultural potential and its developing education infrastructure.
