PANKOBİRLİK President Erkoyuncu brought up the water problem in Konya Plain and said that we are in a red alert situation. He emphasized that the water crisis threatens the future of agriculture.

PANKOBİRLİK President Ramazan Erkoyuncu, who came together with young farmers in Konya, made striking statements about the future of agriculture. Erkoyuncu said, "Not a single drop of water has reached Konya Plain from Çarşamba Stream for the last two years. This means that almost all agricultural production relies on groundwater. However, our underground water resources are also under great threat. As of today, we are on red alert."

THE IMPORTANCE OF YOUNG FARMERS

Konya Seker organized Young Farmer Program in order to shape the future of agriculture with young people. The program was held at Konya Food and Agriculture University (KGTÜ) Conference Hall. KGTÜ Chairman of the Board of Trustees Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kılıç emphasized the cooperation between the university and farmers and the support provided by laboratories to farmers. “We are constantly working to provide accurate and reliable analysis results to our farmers,” Kılıç said.

WE CANNOT KEEP UP WITH THE WATERS

Ramazan Erkoyuncu stated that water is vital for agriculture and said, "The water issue has reached a critical point in terms of the sustainability of agriculture. If action plans are not put into action quickly, a shrinkage in our agricultural output will become inevitable." Erkoyuncu said that they will take decisive steps to solve the water problem of farmers. Stating that the laboratories of Konya Food and Agriculture University are at the service of farmers, Erkoyuncu invited farmers to benefit from these opportunities.
