Konya Food and Agriculture University ranks 6th in Turkey in citation performance

KGTÜ ranked 6th among the universities in Turkey in terms of citation performance according to the YÖK 2025 Monitoring and Evaluation Report. Rector Prof. Dr. Erol Turan stated that this success reflects the academic strength of the university.

According to the data in the YÖK 2025 Monitoring and Evaluation Report, Konya Food and Agriculture University (KGTÜ) ranked 6th among the universities with the highest impact value across the country based on the citation rates of scientific publications with institutional addresses.

According to the written statement made by the university, the Web of Science (WoS) data for the year 2024, included in the YÖK 2025 Monitoring and Evaluation Report, revealed the citation rates of institution-addressed scientific publications published in journals scanned by WoS.

Accordingly, KGTU became the 6th university with the highest citation performance in Turkey.

According to the report, Çankaya University ranked 1st, Piri Reis University ranked 2nd, Iskenderun Technical University ranked 3rd, Sabancı University ranked 4th, and Gebze Technical University ranked 5th in the same category.

KGTÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Erol Turan emphasized that the university, which has gained strong visibility in national and international academic circles in a short time despite being a young and dynamic university, stands out especially with its publications with high scientific impact, referenced and guiding publications.

Stating that the success achieved reflects the basic approach of the university, Turan said, "Citation performance is the most concrete indicator of scientific impact. The fact that the university ranks 6th in the top 10 in Turkey according to Web of Science data clearly demonstrates the quality of our academic staff, our research culture and the importance we attach to scientific production."
