Call for Applications for Lateral Transfer Based on the Central Placement Score (Supplementary Article 1)

HORIZONTAL TRANSFER BASED ON THE CENTRAL PLACEMENT SCORE (ADDITIONAL ARTICLE 1) APPLICATION ANNOUNCEMENT

A- APPLICATION

• The application schedule for lateral transfer based on the central placement score, the principles regarding student quotas, and the procedures and principles for lateral transfer are determined by the Council of Higher Education.
• If a student’s central placement score from the year of enrollment is equal to or higher than the minimum score for the degree program they wish to transfer into in that year, the student may apply for lateral transfer, including to the preparatory class.
• When evaluating applications, students are ranked from highest to lowest central placement score. Admissions are processed within the quota, starting with the students who have the highest scores.

B- APPLICATION SCHEDULE

C. APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Those who have enrolled in universities listed in the Guide to Higher Education Programs and Quotas of the Student Selection and Placement System in Turkey or the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus,
• Those whose ÖSYS/YKS central placement score from the year of university enrollment is equal to or higher than the minimum score for the program they wish to transfer into for that year,
• Those who are currently enrolled as students in any intermediate year, including preparatory classes,
• Those who have not previously transferred using a central placement score,
• Students who enrolled in university in the 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, or 2025 academic years may apply for a lateral transfer.

D- GENERAL PROVISIONS

Placement Score: The placement score the applicant received in the year of enrollment must be equal to or higher than the minimum score for the university degree program to which they wish to transfer in that year,

Enrollment Status: The applicantmust have enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program at any higher education institution listed in the ÖSYS/YKS guide in Turkey or the TRNC in 2025 or earlier and must currently hold active student status,

-Having suspended enrollment or failed to renew enrollment does not prevent an applicant from applying for a lateral transfer,

-Applicants who were placed by ÖSYM at higher education institutions but did not enroll, as well as applicants who have enrolled at other higher education institutions abroad, are not eligible to apply.

Application:All students enrolled inhigher educationinstitutions—including those in preparatory classes, intermediate classes, and final-year classes—are eligible to apply.

Not having previously transferred under Additional Article 1: Candidates who have previously transferred using their central placement score cannot transfer to another university in this manner again; however, students who transferred under Annex 1 may return to the higher education institution where they gained admission through the ÖSYS central placement results during subsequent application periods.

E. ADDITIONAL APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

• English Language Proficiency: To apply for programs where the language of instruction is English, applicants must submit a document demonstrating English language proficiency. Applicants who wish to transfer into the English Preparatory Program or into the first year but do not meet the language proficiency requirement for the program to which they are applying must enroll in the English Preparatory Program. Applicants wishing to transfer into the second year or higher must meet the English language proficiency requirement. Applicants who have completed the maximum duration of the English Preparatory Program and have been dismissed may apply only to programs where the language of instruction is Turkish. To apply to programs where the language of instruction is English, applicants must submit a document demonstrating English language proficiency.
• Additional requirements for applicants to undergraduate engineering programs:Applicants admitted to engineering programs in the 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, or 2025 academic years must have a ranking of 300,000th or higher in their placement score category. Applications from candidates who do not meet this requirement will not be considered.
• Additional requirements for applicants to the Interior Architecture bachelor’s program:For applicants to the Interior Architecture program who were admitted in the years 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, or 2025, the success rank in the placement score category must be 250,000th or higher. Applications from candidates who do not meet this requirement will not be considered.

G. DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR APPLICATION

• Application Form. Click here for the Application Form .
• Student Certificate: A signed and stamped document issued by the university where the student is enrolled, or obtained from e-Government,
• Article 1 Certificate: A document or official letter prepared by the university where the applicant is enrolled, stating that the applicant has not previously transferred via the central placement system in accordance with Article 1,
• ÖSYS / YKS Placement Score Results Certificate:A document showing the placement results for the year in which the applicant was admitted to their current university,
• For applications to engineering programs, the ÖSYS / YKS Placement Scores and Success Rankings Results Certificate
• Document Indicating the Language of Instruction:Must include explanatory information regarding the language of instruction for the program in which the student is enrolled.
• Identity Card:A photocopy will be taken during the application process, and the original must be submitted.

H- EVALUATION

• Rankings, based on placement scores from highest to lowest, are determined by the relevant academic units and finalized by the Board of Trustees.
• Results will be announced on the dates specified in the application calendar on our University’s homepage and on the Student Affairs Office’s webpage,

I- DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR REGISTRATION

• Of the documents required for application, all documents that have not been submitted as originals with wet signatures,
• 6 passport-sized photos taken within the last six months,
• A receipt confirming payment of tuition fees.
• Horizontal Transfer Eligibility Certificate: A signed official document from the applicant’s current university stating that there are no obstacles to their horizontal transfer,
• Course Descriptions:A document containing detailed descriptions and content information for the courses listed on the transcript.
• Transcript: An academic record prepared by the university where the student is enrolled, showing all courses taken, grades, and grade point averages.
