KGTÜ Graduated Its First Integrated Ph.D. Student

Konya University of Food and Agriculture has reached another significant milestone in its journey in graduate education. Our university is proud to have awarded its first integrated doctoral degree.

Zeynep Demirsoy, who graduated in 2021 as the valedictorian of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Konya Food and Agriculture University and currently serves as a research assistant in the same department, has successfully completed her doctoral dissertation titled “Programmable Nanoparticles: Advancing Biomimicry from Enzymes to Cells,” prepared under the Biotechnology Doctoral Program at the Graduate School of Education, thereby earning her Ph.D. degree.

Demirsoy, who successfully defended her doctoral thesis under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülcihan Gülseren, became the first graduate to receive an integrated Ph.D. degree from Konya Food and Agriculture University. The thesis, which focused on programmable nanoparticles and biomimetic systems, made original scientific contributions to the field of nanobiotechnology while also serving as a significant outcome of our university’s research-oriented educational approach.

Dr. Zeynep Demirsoy, who completed her undergraduate studies as the university valedictorian and continued her academic career as a research assistant in the same department, achieved this success, serves as a concrete demonstration of Konya Food and Agriculture University’s vision to train qualified researchers and the academic excellence it has achieved in graduate education.
