Konya Food and Agriculture University's AgroByte Aqua Team Wins the TÜME Investor Award Worth 1 Million Turkish Lira

The AgroByte Aqua team, made up of students from Konya Food and Agriculture University, won the TÜME Investor Award, worth 1 million Turkish lira (TL), at the TEKNOFEST 2026 Şanlıurfa Final. The award was presented by the Agricultural Technologies Cluster (TÜME) in the Data Analytics and Information Systems in Agricultural and Livestock Production category of the Agricultural Technologies Competition.
Guided by the vision "AgroByte Aqua, the Digital Brain of the Blue Economy," the team developed the Smart Fish Cage Monitoring System, an autonomous decision system for open-sea and inland-water fish cages based on artificial intelligence and multi-sensor fusion. The system aims to contribute to sustainable and efficient aquaculture by preventing feed waste, improving cage security, and enabling early disease detection.
Last year, the team was a finalist in the Smart Farm category under the name AgroByte Vision. Reaching the final again this year and receiving the investor award shows that the project is valued not only for its academic and technical merit but also for its commercialization potential.
The AgroByte Aqua team consists of our advisor, Prof. Dr. Kıvanç BİLECEN, and our Computer Engineering students Muhammed Melih ÇAM, Akın Mert AK, Emin Osman ATCI, Mustafa BÜYÜKTEKTEK, and Şeref Samet ÜMÜTLÜ. The team is also supported by Sedanur UĞUR, a Master's student in Aquaculture Engineering at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University.
On behalf of Konya Food and Agriculture University, we sincerely congratulate our advisor and our students on this important achievement and wish them continued success.
