Nisa Dürüs and E. Sinem Şanlıtürk, students of the Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of our university, successfully completed their internships at Orbánhegyi óvodák Nursery School in Budapest, Hungary, within the scope of the Erasmus Internship Program. During their internship, our students visited 6 countries and 7 cities, enhancing their professional experience and broadening their vision through international exposure. Following their first internship experience, our students were accepted into a Clinical Psychology Master's program and had the opportunity to intern at the same institution for a second time as part of their graduate studies. We congratulate our students and wish them continued success.

Our Students’ Experience Report:

In the early days of university, we became each other's family in a different city, far from our close friends and families. Seeing our friends studying abroad through the Erasmus program inspired us to participate. We took the Erasmus exam for the student exchange, but since there were no quotas for Psychology students that year, we couldn't join. Later, when we learned we could do an internship under Erasmus, we wanted to try again. We retook the exam and began searching for internships. Since we wanted to do this together, we applied as a team. Orbánhegyi óvodák Nursery School in Budapest, Hungary, sent us an email stating they would accept both of us. We were thrilled. Although we knew it would be a great experience, the idea of going to a different country was somewhat intimidating, but knowing we wouldn't be alone comforted us. The most challenging part was solving the accommodation issue. We had found a house and made arrangements, but upon arriving at the address in Budapest, we realized we had been scammed. We will never forget the fear of being stranded in an unknown country, but we realized we could overcome any hardship. We settled into a new place and spent two wonderful months. Together, we visited 6 countries and 7 cities. We gained valuable professional experience at our workplace. Following this wonderful experience, we were accepted into a Clinical Psychology Master's program in Türkiye. Learning that we could do another Erasmus internship during our Master's, we applied again. We contacted the same institution in Budapest, and they welcomed us back. This year, we came to Budapest for Erasmus for the second time. Despite some minor setbacks, we were more experienced and handled everything easily. Working with the same institution made us feel more comfortable. We could exchange information on any subject; the children, teachers, and mental health staff saw us not just as interns but as part of the institution. Compared to last year, our work was more dedicated and productive. Although there were new children, we had the chance to observe the one-year growth and development of the children who were there last year. Besides being a great professional opportunity, it has been the most beautiful experience of our youth. No matter how old we get, the memories we made here and this city will always hold a very special place for us.
