Training on Combating Disinformation Held for Our University’s Students

The training took place on Tuesday, 29 September 2026, at 13.00 in classrooms MB-101-102 and was delivered by Research Assistant Ümmügülsüm TÖPLEK from the Department of International Trade and Business, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities.
The training addressed the concepts of disinformation and misinformation, the ways misleading content spreads on digital platforms, particularly social media, and the importance of approaching information critically. Students were introduced to basic methods for verifying news and images and to ways of distinguishing reliable sources.
The training aimed to strengthen students’ media and digital literacy skills, encourage them to question and evaluate the information they encounter, and help them become informed users who can recognize disinformation.
