2026 TÜBA-TEKNOFEST Doctoral Science Award
As the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA), we have been a partner of TEKNOFEST—the world’s largest space, aviation, and technology event—since 2019. To recognize doctoral theses produced in Turkey in the fields identified as priority areas by TEKNOFEST, the “TÜBA-TEKNOFEST Doctoral Science Award” was established in 2021.
These established awards are presented to the authors of theses that have earned first, second, and third place following scientific peer reviews conducted in four categories: Natural and Engineering Sciences, Health and Life Sciences, Social and Humanities Sciences, and Basic Sciences. Additionally, in accordance with the decision of the Academy Council, the “Fuat Sezgin History of Science Doctoral Award” will be presented for the first time this year. The TÜBA-TEKNOFEST Doctoral Science Awards are presented to the recipients by His Excellency President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The TÜBA-TEKNOFEST Doctoral Science Award; Technology and Design, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Autonomous Systems, Robotics and Mechatronics Systems, Modeling and Simulation Technologies, Energy, Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Technologies, Technologies for Aviation, Space, and Unmanned Underwater Systems, Information and Communication Technologies, Cybersecurity and Cryptology, Education, Health, Agriculture and Ecology Technologies, and Biotechnology, as well as doctoral theses addressing the topics of International Relations, Development Policies, Educational Approaches, and Security Policies within the scope of the National Technology Initiative.
Under the Award Program, doctoral theses on topics listed among TEKNOFEST’s priority areas will be subject to scientific evaluation processes. Based on the decision of the TÜBA Council, for the year 2026, the author of the first-place thesis will receive 200,000 Turkish Lira, the second-place author 150,000 Turkish Lira, and the third-place author 100,000 Turkish Lira.
