From Coding to Architecture: The Transformation of Computer Engineering

The development of the field of computer engineering and the future of the profession met with high school students through a meaningful seminar. Prof. Dr. Meltem Huri Baturay Khan and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şenol Zafer Erdoğan introduced the profession with their presentation titled “From Coding to Architecture: The Transformation of Computer Engineering,” delivered to students of Peren Science and Anatolian High School.
During the seminar, the transformation that computer engineering has undergone from past to present was discussed, emphasizing that the perception of the profession has moved beyond being solely based on coding. Students were informed that today computer engineers play roles in a wide range of areas, from system design to artificial intelligence applications, from data analysis to software architecture.
Throughout the presentation, information was also provided about the competencies required by the profession, key points to consider during the educational process, and fields expected to stand out in the future. The event, which attracted great interest from students, also offered an interactive environment where questions were answered.
It was stated that such career introduction seminars help guide students in their career planning and contribute to making informed choices.
